Memorial Day Weekend is such a precious time for the Elks of Orange. It is a time we come to honor those men and women who have fought for us and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

On Saturday, the Boy Scout Troop 1475 of the Orange Elks Lodge and members of the Orange Elks met to place flags on gravesites of veterans. We placed flags on the graves of those who gave the Ultimate Sacrifice and those who have been called to their Final Muster. CMDR Scott McKee, CMDR. Of the American Legion Post 131 and Orange Elks member gave instructions of the proper placement of the flags on the graves.

“Lest We Forget” was the theme of the Tri-City Memorial Observance at the Santa Ana Cemetery. It was the 100th Anniversary of the Dedication by the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War Eagle Monument to the Unknown Dead of the Civil War. A Veterans Honor Squad, Parade of Flags, Memorial Wreaths, Music and Speeches honored those that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for their Country.

Brian Fitzpatrick, Orange Elks member and a veteran and Stephanie Fitzpatrick, Exalted Ruler placed a wreath from our lodge.
