At the Orange Elks Lodge, if you say that this is one of our best projects, you can   usually find a disagreement among our members. No it is help purchasing of a new dog for the Orange P D or helping pay the veterinary bills for the retired dogs, or is it cooking for our veterans and active military personal, its getting our drug awareness program to the kids in Orange or it’s the  DSAofOC (Down Syndrome Association of Orange County) Picnic.

Mike Cash, the Committee Chairman, had a plan for the picnic, “Let’s feed them, play games and make sure the families have a great time!â€

We can safely say that five hours later, Mission Accomplished! The ENF’s ( Elks National Foundation) Beacon Grant  was used to help fund the picnic. Over 100 Elk members volunteered for the 4th annual Elks / Down Syndrome Family Picnic at Irvine Park. Over 300 attendees had a great day of games, crafts, food, therapy dogs, zoo visits, train rides, pony rides and more. This is one of our Best Days in Elkdom! This event was an example of the Orange Elks giving their time, talent and team work to put smiles on all those attending.
Pony rides.

A Thousand of Smiles, A Tons of Thank You’s and an Endless Supply of Hugs was the reward the Orange Elks received form the families at the end of the picnic.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, these smiles are priceless!
