O C Grip, a Soccer Camp and the Orange Elks Drug Awareness
OC GRIP (Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership) is a program in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. The program works with schools that are at-risk for gang violence hoping and hope to keep at-risk kids out of gangs.

GRIP kids are between 8 and 12 years old, they are pre-selected to participate in the program, are struggling in the classroom or have poor attendance or behavioral issues. Usually the first sign is truancy, the kids live in a neighborhoods that are heavily influenced by criminal street gangs, are in constant fear of random violence and crimes committed by the gang members, have been terrorized by gang members and have low self-confidence or limited hope for their futures.
GRIP wants to make a commitment to change lives! Once in the program, the kids make and set goals and must show improvement to stay. This soccer camp helped them lead and achieve the goals they set.
Setting and reviewing their goals.
