A Chili Cook Off for Charity

The Orange Elks Campers are called the “The Orange Roamin Elks” and were formed in 1984 by a group who like to go camping as many times a year as possible and raise money for the Elks’s Charities.

Terri Schatz, the President of the “Roamin Elks” and her group held one of the best Chili Cook Off in a while. They figures out a way to eat, drink, have fun and make money doing it.

This year our dining room was standing room only with Roamin Elks, family and friends. They enjoyed and tasted secret recipes from our guest cooks that were either fourteen “mild” and  fifteen “hot” styles of chili and they were not disappointed. Hot dogs and chili dogs were also available.

Over the years they have donated over $11,000 to various charities.

Our Mild winners, 1st place Sherri Sabo Kurtz, 2nd Cheri Guerro and 3rd place winner Diane Plesky and our Hot winners 1st Paul Plesky, 2nd Anna Valdez and 3rd place Russ Logan
