Daniel Miller
Michael O’Donoghue, an Orange Elks member and past Scout Master for the Orange Elks Lodge Boy Scout Troop #1475, presided over the Court of Honor for Daniel Joseph Miller. Daniel is the twelfth Eagle Scout from our troop since 2006 and there have been four set of brothers to win this high honor.

The Eagle Scout Court of Honor is the highest honor the Boy Scouts of America offers. Daniel received many congratulation letters from people all over the United States, a U S flag flown over the capital and a certificate from the Orange Lodge and the Grand Lodge.

Daniels’s positions in the troop included Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader,
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Order of the Arrow and Order of the Arrow Activities Coordinator Officer. His accomplishments: were Order of the Arrow, Paul Bunyan Woodsman Award and 23 Merit Badges. In his community, he worked with  Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, First Harvest Food Bank, and Numerous other local service projects. For his Eagle Scout Project he rebuilt and expand the El Modena High School’s Nature Center Performing Arts Stage.
Daniel graduated from Villa Park High School and joined the United States Marines. He is graduated from boot camp Friday and attended his Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony on Sunday while home on leave.

In his acceptance, he mentioned that he attained this award through the guidance, support and assistance of those present – his scoutmaster, fellow scouts, his parents, family, friends, and members of the community. The proudest was his Scout Master Monty Miller, his dad!
