Orange Elks Lodge #1475 has a goal to have five years as a “Plus  1” lodge. The E.R.’s and the increase in new members were:Jackie Lynn Defries + 28, Mark Walker + 51, Rick Hatch + 52 and John Stone + 67. This years E R Oscar Garza will make Orange a plus lodge for the fifth years.

How has the lodge accomplished this? Our investigation committee sets the tone with a friendly chat with the new members, next the new members come to a prime rib dinner and Orientation. The following Wednesday is initiation with pizza and beer afterwards.

Wednesday night is “Lodge Night”! Our meetings will attract between 80 – 100 members. The lodge officers inform us on the weeks upcoming events,“Fink Fines” are always in order, a raffle drawing is held at every meeting and member by attending can win big money in the membership drawing. Humor is always in the meetings.

Our new members first challenge is to be initiate of the month by attending every Wednesday meeting until the next initiation of new members. The Initiate of the Month receives great prizes!

The Purple Pig turn in night has lavish prizes and the members are recognized for their efforts.

ENF has “Never Yetters, Donators and Not as Yetters” that help our lodge produce great results each year.

Every Friday, a volunteer kitchen crew, prepares meals from Fish Fry, Burger and Steaks, Prime Rib, Italian and even a surprise dinner of the chef’s choice. The VFW breakfast is the 1st Sunday and our veterans committee holds an Omelet Bar on selected Sundays.

The lodge holds Bunco Night twice a month, golf is on the second Tuesday of each month in the summer, offers meal deals on Tuesdays nights, tacos on the 1st and 3rd Mondays, and shrimp and fry’s on the 4th Monday.  There is even member appreciation day each quarter.
