The Elks, like every organization, speak a language all their own. This is a tongue-in-cheek look at Elk Acronyms for the new guy.

First, some general rules...

P = Past
S = State

So, if you can't remember that ER is not just for Emergency Room, presented in alphabetic order...

DD        District Deputy
DDGER         District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler
ENF        Elks National Foundation - give until it hurts!
EOY        Elk of the Year
ER        Exalted Ruler or sometimes Exhausted Rooster
GER        Grand Exalted Ruler
OOTY        Officer of the Year
PDD        Past District Deputy
PDDGER Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler
PER        Past Exalted Ruler
POOTY Past Officer Of The Year
PEOTY Past Elk Of The Year
PSP        Past State President
PSVP Past State Vice President
SP        State President
SVP        State Vice President
