The Orange Elks have something to give...whether it be Time, Treasure or Talent! This weekend at the Orange Lodge we saw an abundance of all four! Each year Christmas Baskets (box) are delivered to those families in need of a good Christmas. Our lodge members donated over $9,000. Discounts were obtained from various stores in our community. This year the lodge chairmen for Christmas Baskets Adam Thomasson, Colin Smith, PER, Jim Jung and Don Westerfield  added a forth one, Teamwork!

The week started by collecting all the essentials to go into the basket. The baskets included candy canes, bread, game balls, fruit snacks, chips, puddings, cereal, cookies, pasta mac & cheese, rice, can fruits and vegetables, beans, apple sauce, and oranges. In addition twenty seven bikes and two fifteen dollar gift certificates were added.

This would not be possible without all the help from our lodge members and their families! The teamwork made this all possible!
The best part of that was seeing the families who received the baskets reactions! The best part was seeing the reactions of families who received the baskets and the smiles of the children’s faces seeing their new bike!!

Leftovers from the evening before were delivered  the Homeless Veterans Manor House in Santa Ana. The extra produce was given to Mary’s Kitchen in Orange which feeds homeless people.
2016 Christmas Baskets are a wrap. This would not be possible without all of your generosity. The Christmas Basket team was very humbled by the outpouring of love shown. Best People On Earth.

Around the lodge at Christmas E.N.F means an “Extra Nice Feeling” and the B.P.O.E. are the “Best People On Earth”!
